When you arrive at Hilo International Airport, you will find yourself in a group of charming low rise open-air buildings. Proceed down the escalator to the baggage claim area, immediately to your left. Facing the airport road, Hilo is to the right. You will find major car rental agencies facing you across the road. Reserving a car ahead of time will save you time, and discounts are always available by calling ahead. From the car rental agencies, proceed toward the airport exit (there's only one way to go, so you won't miss it!). When you reach the main road, turn right at the lights. It is a major intersection with a left turn lane. You'll see the Aloha Gas Station directly ahead on the opposite side of the highway. Two stoplights ahead, you will turn left into Kamehameha Blvd. Continue on Kamehameha three stoplights, going through the old Main Street of Hilo town. At the third light, turn left again (straight ahead at this turn is the Koehnen Furniture Store 1910). Continue up this street, called Waianuenue (ask us what this means when you arrive), through two more stoplights at approx. 1 block apart, until you arrive at the third light. Turn right at this corner onto Kaiulani St. You will see an orange roofed Methodist Church on your right. Shortly ahead you will see an old Victorian wooden bridge with several signs including no-exit, no public access, etc. Cross over, and wind along the lush verdure of Kaiulani St., on Reeds Island now, approx. a quarter of a mile until you come to the house with the big octagon window in the second floor. Park in by the orange tree, and you are there.

The Orchid/Falls Room has a wonderful view of the waterfalls. There is a variety of lightly scented orchids blooming on the chunk of lava rock that is part of your deck. There is a large King bed to cuddle up in under a traditional Hawaiian pineapple quilt to watch cable TV or view the stars come out to sparkle. The lava bathroom is covered in black slate with rain forest green marble diamonds. The shower is made for two with two shower heads and pink river rock under your feet. After a day's adventure, stretch out those muscles and watch the stars come out to play over our hot tub.
The Ginger/Falls Room has a wonderful view of the sun spotlighting the banana trees, fragrant wild white ginger, stately albesia trees and the rushing river in the morning. The sunsets are framed from your deck by the lavender outline of Mauna Kea. There are two beds (One Queen and One Full-size) covered with Hawaiian quilts, lots of blankets for cool nights, big stuffed pillows and cable TV for catch up. The bathroom is new: the floor and wainscoting are granite with marble diamonds. The shower has a river rock surface that feels really good on your feet
